Ride Eternal Shiny and Chrome.

My last inks for a while, I wanted Inktober to go out in a bang so I did a little tribute to Mad Max Fury Road. I also made this into a T-Shirt over at Redbubble. I’ve been squaring away my finanaces and other stuff that life throws at you so there has been little time to paint or draw. I still have a painting for a friend on my easel that quietly rebukes me every time I walk past it. I should be getting back into the saddle by next weekend.

Thanks for stopping by and remember: Ride Eternal Shiny and Chrome,

Bill

Inktober 25-27.

These are fun to do, but I’m ready to get back to painting. I’ve learned a bit out of this challenge and I full-filled my new years resolution to fill a sketchbook.

Thanks for stopping by,

Bill

Inktober 17-20

Inktober17-20

One of the positive affects of inktober is that my sketching skills have improved. I am falling behind though, but I’ll do all 31 days.

Inktober 7-12 with 8 missing.

I spent the last week in Berlin, walking around and taking in the wonderful buildings and Museums, so I’m trying to play catch-up with the inktober themes. These are getting easier and I see an improvment, I’m not crosshatching wildly now over the whole drawing.

Thanks for stopping by,

Inktober day 5 and 6

I finally caught up. Each day has a theme, day 5 was long- she has long hair, a long sword and will have a long fall if she doesn’t make it. Six was sword, hey why not a ninja, everyone likes ninjas.

Sketchbook Post

I love my sketchbook. I love to just open it and draw things or ideas that fly through my mind. Mostly though its a time to relax and just enjoy drawing, I don’t worry about being technicly perfect, there are usually a lot of mistakes when I go back and look at them later, but who cares. I started the drawing for my next bigger painting and will be posting weekly updates and a progress Gif at the end.

Thanks for taking a look,

Bill

There be dragons.

Did you ever see two dragons fight? I was thinking along this line as I was racking my brain trying to come up with a dragon themed study for my next painting. I also want to show some movement or conflict between two dragons. Maybe a territory fight or one dragon protecting his brood. Anyway I will comitt to this one and see it through to a finished painting. I’ll look for a cool background and cut out the dragons and paste them over it for the finished reference, maybe a mountain with a blue sky.

Thanky for dropping by and stay classy,

Bill

Sketchbook Post.

I have three sketchbooks and all are about one quarter full. My goal this year is to fill at least one of them by the end of the year.
As always, thanks for taking a look,
Bill

Sketchbook.

sketchbook

October, November are busy months for me. Usually things pop up that I have to take care of and then there is little time left for painting. The last two weeks have been like that, I just didn’t get to paint for one reason or another. I do try to sketch or draw (long live the sketchbook) at least once a day. Well it happened again this weekend that I wasn’t able to paint, so took out the pastels and did some studies. One good thing is that I really enjoy pencil drawing and I restarted my Monday night gesture drawing sessions.

Thanks for looking in and be friendly to each other, don’t let the hate take over,

Bill

Sketchbook Dragon study.

Dragon sketch

Hey people, heres something from my sketchbook. I’ve been looking at a lot of lizards and reptile lately trying to get ideas for a dragon. I will probably go with this head, but more horns on his head and maybe one close to his jaw. My next step is to take this into blender and model and then sculpt him. I’ve one or two more weeks on my current painting, I’m closing in on the final layer and we are slowly but surely becoming friends again.

Thanks for looking in and stay healthy,

Bill
