Hi-Ho People, have you ever scoured the internet looking for resources of fish, tigers or maybe insects? Well I literally stumbled-upon a web site which has all of these and many more. I bookmarked this page because it has spectacular pictures of not only all the well known mammals, but also a slue lesser knowns, ranging from Aardvark to Zorilla. The pictures are great and there is also a little of information about the animal just so you don’t die dumb. All the images are protected under Creative Commons restrictions so if you use the image give credit where credit is due. The site is called Arkive click here to get there, or http://www.arkive.org.

Thanks for looking in,

Bill

1 Million Illustrations posted by the British Library.

The British Library posted 1 million Victorian era illustrations to Flickr. This is definitely worth an hour or two.

Here’s the link: Flickr

Banksy’s art residency in New York.

I’ve been following Banksy’s blog: Better Out Than In. Every day he’s leaving Graffiti or something else on the streets of New York and then posting it on his blog. For me this is better then American Idol or Next top Model. This man is a true artist.

Thanks for dropping in,

Bill

Artist Spotlight: the amazing Michael Whelan

Chances are that you seen Michael Whelan’s Art before without really realizing it. Mr. Whelans been working as a  illustrator for the last 35 years and chances are that you’ve seen a book cover or record with his art work on it. He also has a new web site which floored me. I spent at least 1 hour going through his galleries, recognizing the art work from book covers from, books that I had read as a teenager, thinking that was a cool picture on the cover. He was the first living artist to be inducted into the “!Science Fiction Hall of Fame” in 2009. He works mostly in acrylic paint, shying away from digital painting. But instead of me rambling, checkout his new web page.

Inpirational Site of November

I stumbled across this amazing site the other day: Inspirational Artworks.  There is an incredible list of Amazing artist and links to pictures of their works. Not only that but the site has also a huge collection of Anatomy pictures showing the muscles and bones of the human body.  Also pictures of human anatomy examples, there is nudity though to those who are made uncomfortable by that. This is definitely worth a look. These are really valuable in understanding how the muscles build up under the skin. Link: Inspirational Artworks
