Hey people, heres what I’m working on at the moment. My first night time scene, and let me tell you not easy and one can’t take a decent photo of it either. I still have a lot of work on this. This will probably be one of those pieces that you look back after a year and cringe and ask yourself what you were thinking about. I guess you learn something with every painting. This is my usual process during painting a picture:
- I am in love with the idea and gather reference and make drawings, “This will be my best painting EVER.”
- Ok, the cold reality sets in, “This will be a lot of work,” the under painting doesn’t look like what I was thinking of.
- Its ok, there are some parts of the painting that I like, but the other parts, the painting glares at me from the corner asking, “How could you do this to me?”
- Me and the painting find a way to each other and in the end we both are happy with the outcome.
Basically I wanted to make the character the central point in the painting, so I have to put a lot of effort in to rendering him. I am at about point 3 right now and waiting patiently for point 4 to set in.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look,
